I have a question about changing the units of the ruler bar. My version of XP Word displays the ruler in metric. The text I'm following is written in the US, and uses the imperial (inch) system for page layount and so on.
What I am trying to do is change the ruler from metric to imperial so that I can follow the bloody book. I've tried the Help files, but they only allow me to change the units for page set up, not the units displayed on the actual ruler. The Help files only provide this one procedure (Tools > Options> General > Units (or something)), and this isn't working.:x

    This is driving me nuts.
Does anybody know how to do this?

Go to Tools > Options > General and use the drop down box which says *measurement Units* change it to inches. It works for me

    Thanks, Blue Rinse.
The procedure is fine on my work PC too, but for some strange reason not on my personal laptop.
    Oh well.

    Ken,

Which Office XP application are you trying this on your personal laptop?
