Took 2010 Word and Excel Expert today and Outlook, and passed them all, so have achieved Master status (already passed PowerPoint) now I just have to wait for it to show on the transcript :D

Hi, I'm really interested in doing this certification. Can you tell me how much it is for the exams.

It seems to vary greatly, depending on the Test centre. The place in Aberdeen where I took mine charged me 50GBP for each exam. However MCT colleagues of mine down in Englandshire have been quoted anything up to 115GBP for each test.

Also, my best advice is to locate a test centre before buying a voucher, as they are also allowed to charge a proctoring fee on top if you arrive with a voucher in your hand.

Spend some time on the web, on the Certiport site and on the Prodigy.ie site and make a few phone calls. Take the total costs into account, not just the exam fee by itself.

    HTH?

Hi, sorry about this, got another question. Did you actually take courses in all the subjects required before each exam or is the knowledge you already have enough, say with some revision. I suppose there are mock tests that can be taken to see if you are up to the level required. What I'm saying is I already have knowledge of MS Office 2007 so if I can get hold of a copy of Office 2010 and have a play around with it, will this be enough or do I need to take the courses on each application and wow are they expensive.

Microsoft Office Step by Step books and I would recommend gmetrix practice tests (also has training mode) are good for preparation. There is also 2 MOS study guide exam books if you search MOS 2010 on amazon. One has Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. The other one is for Access, Sharepoint, Word expert and excel expert.

Exam Costs were around £60 each

    hope this helps

Thanks Jameo, much appreciated. You don't think I need to do a class then?
