As i have a new laptop for work, i no longer have MS Access on my computer, i downloaded openoffice, and was hoping that it would open the access file .mdb, but it doesnt.

Does anyone know of a freeware util that can do this, i just need to export the data in .xls format.

If it is a work <thing> contact the IT department and tell them you need the <full> office suite. :biggrin
I would be careful about crossing MS Office with OO if i were you incase one of them makes a pigs ear of something important...

Its long winded mate - it will take me 20secs to add a call and send it to the relevant department, then can be upto 2 weeks to get it installed on my pc...

Its quicker if i ask around if someone else has it...

I know this is sorted now but just out of curiosity would using the import data option in Excel and importing the Access .mdb file not have worked or am I missing something?
