Stay to the Parf (drunken yorkshire accent), try not to stray.....I know it's easier said than done and we are all guilty of it from time to time.

    Welcome to CertForums, littlebud.
How about a few details about what you're studying or what you want to study. We can aim you in the right direction from there.

Thanks for asking tripwire45. Well to give you some background. I have (in the past) been a programmer in COBOL but it was all mainframe finance related. Now I am considering doing some MS training in VB.net. I need something that is windows related and a certification. Equally I may like to do training in Windows 3000 when that comes along.

Now I need to evaluate the training providers and I thought that this would be a good port of call. Any suggestions from anybody would be good. I want to train from home, in my own time, with ready access to individual tutors.

Ok, that's clearer. Unfortunately, since my little corner of the world is across "the pond", I have no clue as to what might be available in your neighborhood. I defer to my partners-in-crime in the UK to help out here. Ok gang...take it away. :)

From personal experience, I am with National IT Learning Centre in Newark, as are many other Members in here. I find them to be a fine outfit, with all the help and support you'll need, if maybe a bit pricey.

Others use different providers, such as Computeach, but I can't comment on those.

I'm sure you'll hear a few more opinions on this one, littlebud, but it's a fine opening question, and you've certainly helped by giving us enough info about where you're at, and what you want to be doing.

    HTH :)

That's what we're all here for, Littlebud :thumbleft

Just don't be afraid to spend some time looking around the place. There is truly a wealth of invaluable info on CertForums, which has come from some people who know exactly what they're talking about.

Just remember, we're all here to learn. And we get to have fun too. :funfun

Like SimonV said before, you made a good move swinging by our wee corner of the Datasphere (copyright S.Garrity 2003)

    Enjoy, Littlebud :D

That's right, "jam". We "geezers" lose track of all kinds of details. But I haven't lost my aim. :gun

Why thank you Andrew. Yes you info was usefull but I am still sitting on the fence. I would like to hear from some of the others I was chatting with. Cartmen, Flex where are you.

Still I am only a Newbie and mayhap not worthy of you "old hands".
    :(
