    Hi everyone

been studying for my a+ for last couple of months, and only just found this forum, wish i'd found you earlier!! I am doing my a+ thru pitmans training, mostly at home, but go once a week to do all the practical stuff and ask all the questions i'm not sure about with one on one tutoring, but i need more!

currently work in telesales environment, mundane and driving me mad, hence, obtaining a+ and helping me get out and do something i enjoy!

struggling with the studying and keeping it all in my head, by the time i've learnt one topic inside and out, then go on to the next, the previous topic has gone from my head! How on earth did i do it when i was at school.... i've forgotten how to remember stuff :(

but hopefully, with your help, i'll get there.... just need a kick up the bum and something to improve my memory!!!

Hi and welcome to CF, Sally. We can accomodate any special requests to help your learning, so the above shouldn't be a problem (in fact, it's a speciality around here)

    Welcome to the Cert forums!
    Feel free :D
When I was "rounding up" all my notes to prepare for the OS exam I was seriously hitting the A+ forum :biggrin

Hopefully, I can return the favour and help you on your way.

What I did to try and help me memorize things which you have to commit to your memory (!) was buy some address cards and write a title or topic on one side and the key points or stats on the other.
You would be amazed that things you don't think you know after constantly reading/testing yourself do go in!

    Sally,

What I would do Is go to www.comptia.org and get the new 2003 objectives for both hardware and OS.
When you are ready for your first exam (it is advisable to study and take one, then proceed to the next) go through the objectives (easier to print them out) and make sure you are confident in all areas.
What I did was make key point's next to them and then start "hitting" the A+ forum with any grey areas I had :D

    HI sally and welcome!

What helped me when I was studying is that I use to hightlight anything I thought important in that book. Then when I was done with a chapter I would go back and write down all my highlight stuff. Yes it takes more time but writing it down helps for it to stick in my mind and by the time your ready to take your test you have your only study guide to go though with important stuff. And A+ is really about hands on. The more you can pratice and play with the computer the eaiser it is to understand and remeber. Good luck with your studies.
