Anyone purchased any MS Press books for the Server 2012 exams?

The MS Press book for the 70-417 arrived yesterday and to my surprise there is no CD with a PDF for the book. No measureup questions either.

Not the end of the world but I did like having the PDF so I could read the book on my laptop when travelling.

Are all the new MS Press books like this?

It sound like what they have done with the inside out series, have a look at the back of the book and see if there is a download link. Everything is in the cloud now....

Due to the fact that they now offer a Kindle version, perhaps?

Don't like the omission of practice q's though...

I use the .pdf version of the book as much as I use the actual book so that is bad news for me.

It's a bit much that we're expected to pay out for the book twice, just to have it available in different formats.

Was going to update this thread a couple of days ago but didn’t get around to it.

The lack of PDF is getting to be a hassle just now as I used to have a copy on my test servers and also my laptop. Also sometimes it’s difficult to prop up the book and take some notes on the laptop.

Who do I complain to at Microsoft about this? :) :)

I guess this kinda forces you to get it on Kindle for example to use on tablet/kindle desktop app etc (though installing on a server isn't ideal) - stupid really as it encourages pirating (not recommending)

Just a tip for anyone buying Kindle stuff - Must authors are happy to email you the CD material with a proof of purchase etc. I have done this with a few Kindle IT books (I buy most of mine now on kindle and read on my Nexus 7).
