    Hi All!

I have recently purchased a new HP Pavilion dv8000 laptop and i must admit i do like it but this week i have been experiencing problems.

Twice it had turned it sell off.

And today all websites closed and a notepad .log file was left on my desktop it's quite large with loads of info in it that i do not understand.

Has any one experienced similar problems?

    Best regards

    Adam

download spybot software and check for spyware. Run a full virus scan. If you go online make sure you have a firewall..

    thats to start..

I agree with Clyde. Run a complete Spyware scan.

    Spybot
    Adaware

Just two that I'd suggest. 8)

    Thanks for the quick response.

I keep good house keeping, I know about these threats and I protect my self with these programs, Zone Alarm, Avg 7.1, Xoft Spy, Ad-aware and spybot.

That's why I was so surprised with this behavior.

A quick google on the above reveals that this is a Java issue. Have you recently updated Java? Or if not perhaps you should.

    Just guessing. :blink

temporarily disable java in your browser(s) and see if it goes away.
If you installed sun java, uninstall, delete the folder that remains and reinstall
try deleting the contents of downloaded program files folder...
