Hi everyone,

Haven't been around for about a year, been busy looking for jobs, finally I have been accepted for a local helpdesk job. Supporting a recruitment software provider. Had two interviews and have been recently notified I have got the job. YAY!

Will be hanging around here a lot more now to try and give advice and to learn

Also Just download a very helpful boot cd in iso format. Hirens boot cd.

Some great tools on there if anyone needs any startup solutions.

Congrats mate. When do you start? and do you think the hard work was worth it?

 

Start next Tuesday mate, and yeah I do. But still I'm only 21 so just trying to learn as much as I can. hopefully I can work my way up, any advice on what I should take or do on my first day?

Hey, I'm only 21 too mate (and called Dave as it happens), so you're doing well my man. Key thing now is too really really push forward and you'll go far.

I've always found that although a lot of people work in IT, not many genuinely believe and care about what we do which is provide customer service. Keep that in mind and you'll be tip top

I completely agree with westernkings - focus on delivering quality customer support, ask as many questions as you need (even if it sounds silly) and just enjoy your new job. You have earned it.

I know what it is like not having a job then getting your first IT job. I have been in my first IT job for about a year now and loved every minute of it. Still needs must and a bit of advice KEEP LEARNING AND GETTING THOSE CERTS lol
