    Hi All

I have just started a new Help Desk job with a publishing company in Glasgow on a 3 month contract. Very handy for my summer break.

Seems ok with a lot of Active Directory and user apps work as well as remote stuff etc etc. Alot of propriety stuff as well.

Will let u know how i get on

    Hi All

Just to let you know how im getting on and what im doing.

Been there over a week and taking calls which can be anything from network logins being reset to configuring vpn access. A lot of Active Directory work especially adding new users which is very time consuming as each user also needs an exchange mail box, personal folders etc and various applications (a username and pass for each app) as well as access to different groups etc.

The support is basic but not bad. Most stuff, is passed to 2nd line. Call logging is a pain as well.

Theres a lot of remote and Citrix work (good for the experience) and the company uses a remote control prog called Funk Proxy which is very fast and lets both u and the remote user interact whereas RD in Windows locks the user out. Id check it out if i were u.

So all in all not bad
