Here we go again then, another week, another question! Good luck!

When using a GFS backup schedule and carrying out backups on a daily basis, what does GFS refer to?

    A) Weekly, monthly and yearly Backups
    B) How often you have to Restore data
    C) Daily, weekly and monthly backups
    D) How often tapes are changed during a single backup cycle

    Remember the Hide tags!

    I think it's

[HIDE]C) Daily, weekly and monthly backups

"GFS (grandfather, father, son) is a tape rotation strategy. GFS simplifies tape handling by organizing rotation into daily, weekly, and monthly backup tapes. You can also create Custom backup jobs that use the GFS strategy."[/HIDE]

But I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've done the Network+ :D

Well - I'd say that if I had to pick just one it would be [HIDE]C. But note that the order is reversed, I've always thought of the Grandfather as the least frequent one, so it ought to be SFG! And again - in my day GFS didn't make any statement about the *actual* frequency of backups, so should in theory include answer A. The only annual backup I've ever encountered was for auditing purposes, so I decided for C[/HIDE]

Now let's see what sort of mess I made of that....

Oh Cr@p! With the excellent Network+ quiz thats going on I forgot to post the answer to this one!

The answer ic C by the way, the key word in the question was that backups are carried out daily.

No more Q's until The great Network+ quiz is finished! :biggrin
