network doubts

    Iam a computer network engineer.I was raised a doubt, since am in a serious job work i could not able to think about the question that How can I measure the performance of an IP link and What IP addresses should I assign to machines on a private network? please reply to me

    Hmmm, Ive tried to piece that together thomking. You should only use an internal IP range on your LAN [192.168.0.0,
    172.16.0.0, 10.0.0.0 ] and if you need to monitor bandwidth on a network card internally the free PRTG software http://www.paessler.com/prtg is a good place to start. Hope you dont mind me asking but shouldnt you know about IP addressing if you are a network engineer?:ohmy
