    Just thought i would post this incase it can help anyone I was emailed with this job yesterday but its requires more Cisco experiance than i have.


    Permanent Role: Network Support/Communications Analyst

    Salary: up to £30k for the right person

    Location: North Yorkshire


    My client is a market leader in their field; they have been established many years and despite the current economic situation are growing steadily. The organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Communications/Support Consultant with strong AVAYA and CISCO skills who has experience of networks and telephony systems.


    Essential:

    *Experience of Telephony systems. Principally a working knowledge of Avaya, Mitel systems or Nortel PABX’s (MUST have AVAYA - experience of just the other listed telephony systems will not get you an interview)

    *Fault finding support skills

    *Experience in the operation & configuration of network routers and multi-layer switches *Local Area Network operation

    *Knowledge of TCP/IP operation and OSI

    *Understand the concepts surrounding firewall operation

    *Network equipment installation to Data Centre standards

    *Network cabling to Data Centre standards



    Desired:

    *IP routing principles & protocols

    *An understanding of network management tools and SNMP

    *Internet facing knowledge, skills and faultfinding techniques

    *Experience of Video Conferencing Solutions

    *An understanding of ISDN operation

    *Familiarity with Windows and Unix server networking

    *An understanding of network management tools and SNMP



    The Role:

    *You would be required to provide 1st & 2nd line support,

    * Provide technical support to internal and external customers and to the Infrastructure design team.

    * You would be expected to be part of the 24 x7 on call rota

    * You will be the lead on issues of Telephony, LAN and Video conferencing

    *Take responsibility for planning and performing scheduled network changes

    * Responsible for submitting firewall rule change requests

    * Responsible for maintaining documentation

    * Maintain Network devices – Firmware/updates/patching/hardware
