    just wanted to know when you guys use this command most and with which switches?

    basically you can use it to do a lot of things...up to where i am in my studies i have seen it used a lot in all the exam material - from DHCP to DNS the list in endless:

    cheers zimbo. just wondering what the main situations/uses were

    e.g. with ipconfig.

    i pretty much only use the switches /all and /renew.

    i;ve never really heard of this one or seen anyone use this in practice.

    I haven't used it much other than to occationally rebuild the TCP/IP stack on a workstation. It's not possible to do it any other way apparently. For day to day maintenance of the network I support, it is very rarely used.

    As Zimbo said, it can be used to do many things and is a very powerful tool. One advantage is that you could use it to script certain activities or processes.
