Gave up smoking 11 days ago with patches but still feel like sh##.
Studying EIGRP Frame Relay topology is not helping, work is ok as I am busy.
But now I have to go shopping with my wife and daughter, walk past people smoking, fight through other shoppers and screaming kids...

I just want a bloody Cigarette!!!!!!!!!!

Do you smoke/have you ever smoked Sparky?

For someone trying to quit ciggies drinking beer usually makes it harder. :)

Yeah, I smoked when I was at uni - tbh the cost of it meant I had to stop and yeah, having a drink always meant having a cig!

To the OP, hang in there mate! :biggrin

Hang in there matey, I know how tough it can be. I'm a week in to quitting (again) and I'm consciously avoiding le pub for the time being.

I quit cold turkey 2.5 year ago, I had been smoking about 8 years.

You'll only be able to do it if you really want to!

    Good luck!

    Thanks All.
I survived the day lol Cold Turkey has failed for me in the past I can get to the 5th day usually but then normally fail again :(
I have smoked for 25 years, these free patches I got from the NHS stop smoking campaign seem to be working for me, I know patches only prolong the withdrawal process but if it gets me off the Dirty Weed then I will continue this way.
You’re supposed to wear them for 24 hours, but I take them off at night and don’t put them on until I have been awake at least a couple of hours the next day, the amount of nicotine I get has dropped a third since I gave up this way, I had a 20 a day habit.
I just bought 21 patches on Ebay (£15.00!!) so when they have gone I will just stop, as giving up the patches will be easier then giving up the Cigs...
So far I have saved £74.20 looks good in a jar, better then my lungs would look.
I need £90 for my exam so it's nearly paid for it already!

All the more incentive to keep it going. If you never got past the 5th day before then you've already got it done. :thumbleft

On way to Berlin on plane i thought i'd quit, being away - not with all my mates etc, i won't drink as much - then over here there are pubs for smokers - one irish pub you can smoke in the bar at, and they have all english sports on a 42" tv directly in front of me, with a waitress service....

considering all the above, quitting kind of didnt happen for me unfortunately lol, but i'll try when i leave here in 6 weeks :D

Averaging it out at £6.50 a packet I have saved £1657.50 !! I have put on a 14lbs so not that bad.
I still get the urge for a cig now and then, but I will never have one again.
