My hard drive wont see...

Any ideas why my hard drive wont see 90 or 99 minute discs?
I thought it was an age thing but I have heard several things. Is it a configuration thing? If so, I can't see what I can do in XP to alter it

Awight Boyce-ee - no idea if this is close to the problem, but I googled using your question and found the following:

From a brief scan of the results, firmware does sound like the likely answer if it's not a setting somewhere in the software your using.

Have been doing some swotting up on th subject. It seems like there are many different opinions on the matter

 

I don't know if you've seen this, but it gives several things to check. Looks like a pretty good overall troubleshooting guide for this problem. I haven't run into this problem personally so don't really have knowledge of the problem.
