MOSS 2007 problem

Any MOSS 2007 experts on here?

Basically I’ve been handed a contract to look after a network as the IT manager has legged it and the company is currently looking for a replacement as I type this. Anyways I have been handed a list of ‘ongoing issues’ which is going to take me weeks to get through, the first of which is a MOSS2007 problem.

The MOSS 2007 install is fairly complex and there is FA documentation which isn’t helping. <sigh>

The problem is that no new members of staff can create pages in any of the Sharepoint sites even though they have contributor and even full access in the site. After speaking to some of the users some of then *can* create pages however this permission was granted weeks\months ago.

To test I created a user account and then added it to some AD groups as the Sharepoint site uses AD groups for permissions and I got the same problem. I even just gave the user account full access in a site to see what happened and I got the same problem. I can edit pages though.

I’ve tried importing all the user accounts again from AD and checked through the event logs and there is nothing unusual. I can log on as the SharePoint Admin account and create pages which is just a temp fix as there are far too many sites for me too look after.

I gave my test account the exact same settings as an account that can create pages in any site and it still doest work. ARRRRGH!

Any thoughts?

No probs, Ive just added your Sharepoint book to my Christmas shopping list as I have another Sharepoint project coming up soon.

 

Ahh, didn't realise there was more than one. Going for the MCTS book and see how it goes...
