    Hello everyone,

I today received my first official certificate, for Microsoft Office Specialist Excel. Even though my school hasn't said anything about the possibility to go for the Expert exam of it, I was just wondering how hard it is compared to the 'standard' one.

I mean, the score I got was 737 points, not that much. Mainly because the subject 'apply formulas and functions' was harder then what I learned for. At that part I only got 20% correct. But now I would like to know how much harder the Expert level for this exam is compared to the standard MOS exam. Not because I actually want to do that one. After all, I still got two other exams to do in order to pass my current training (Medewerker Beheer ICT as they call it in the Netherlands, which in English is kind of 'IT Management Employee'). And those ones are MOS Word and MOS PowerPoint.

Anyone that would like to answer my question? :)

    By the way, my scores:
    • Create and manage worksheets and workbooks - 90%
    • Create cells and ranges - 67%
    • Create tables - 67%
    • Apply formulas and functions - 20%
    • Create charts and objects - 83%

Well as the title suggests its expecting you to be Expert Level, it's also two exams, so for example you will have taken 77-420 for the Excel exam, with the Expert you would need to take both 77-427 and 77-428.

I would have a look at the requirements for both exams and see how you feel.

The MS Press books are quite well mapped to the requirements so if you can get hold of those as your study guides you wont go far wrong. I think this is the latest version
