We've been house hunting all this week, looks like we may have found the one, its in a place called Cavendish Park in Kings Clipstone, just outside Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. Its only 30 mins drive from family and friends but closer to work for the both of us.

This is the house HERE, were are getting it at a really good discount as its a completed house. Its the last to sell on the whole development and also its Bovis homes financial end of year in Dec so its just fallen right really. :) Happy Days

180 grand for a four bedroom detacthed house? Unbelievable. My house if a two bedroom terrace in a sh1t part of Croydon and its worth the same amount.

I'm obviously happy for you, but the price of houses in the South is utterly sickening

Congraulations Si, that is a beautifull home, does it already come landscaped like that or is that just the sample home for people to look at? :beers2 Cheers to you and yours making a lot of happy memories there in the years to come.

It's a lovely house Si, very English and quaint.

It does make me wonder though, when are the brits going to start building double garages as the norm? Here all new houses have double garages and it helps to keep the parked cars off the road.

Er - cough - double garages imply space - and space is now an expensive premium in the UK!

You want them - you pay *big* time!

From what I can see, the house Si linked to has enough land space. I believe it's a cultural thang :biggrin

Heh, I drove through Croydon on Sunday. Did a lot of my growing up in and around there. Pals and the Blue Orchid will always have a special place in my heart. Are they still around?

    LOL - nopes!

Pals was closed down last year because of all the fighting, and the Blue Schoolkid bit the dust about two years ago due to all the underage drinking in there. Also, Sinarsetras closed four years ago, literally in the middle of the night - the owners buggered off back to Ireland (allegedly) taking a load of other peoples' money with them. Luckily for me, when that closed down it put ten grand on the value of my house instantly, as it sat right on the 'Cinatra's Flight Path' (that lovely 02:00 - 03:30 corridor every Friday & Saturday night when the pissed up Shazza's, Trace's, Dal's and Gal's would come rolling down the road, piss-drunk and screaming obscenities at each other).

    I hate Croydon...

I am not a great fan myself Zeb. 12000 miles is as far away as I could get!

It has changed over the years, mainly for the worse. I remember riding donkeys outside Kennards when I was a mere boy. Alas that charm went with the shop yonks ago and now I hear Alders has gone from the Whitgift centre too.

I do miss the curry houses though :(
