I have been offered the role as a Deputy IT manager at a college local to me.

I have accepted the role.

Bit of a shame to leave my current role as ive enjoyed it, but I think this is a good career move.

Looks like its going to be a good year for me.

Hope everyone elses 2009 is going as well.

Congratz, you are now a civil servant, the most despise people by the common man ;) working for the government is the right way to go for the most part haha. especially in a college or school where IT is paramount, god I envy you . . .

 

Thanks for all the thanks, has been a busy week, went into (old) work sunday, to put some switches in, do some cabling, and other bits n bobs, was harsh after 6 hours sleep (was at a wedding reception the night before).

The week at work has been busy, clearing out as many jobs as possible, making sure the AV was working on all machines, finding and documenting various fixes and putting them into sharepoint, all while being the only tech onsite (as other guy was on training).

Also have been busy every night this week, with birthdays, meeting people etc, so am looking for a good solid half term week next week to get used to the place.

Will miss the place, but am looking forward to new challenge monday, and also getting back on the revision trail.
