i can see it now: someone will have about 12 TS certs and 10 MCITPs certs - what is going on?? :(

MCDST focuses on Win XP, Office and a few other blips and blobs like outlook express...

TS Vista and MCITP Vista will only be Vista by the sound of it because also we have: MCTS: Deploying and Maintaining Vista Client and Office 2007 Desktops!

Can anyone clarify whats meant by this?

Does this mean that as an MCDST in XP I would only need to pass a single exam in Vista to become an MCITP? :blink

    I'm disappointed.

I was hoping for tougher exams with hands on labs. Actually bring some credibility back to the certification process. Instead they've created a ton of new tracks which us IT professionals are baffled by never mind HR or hiring managers.

    Oh well.

As long as they keep the key words in there - Microsoft Certified.

If past experiences are anything to go by thats all that HR looks at! :biggrin

According to Microsoft, I think the upgrade exam for current XP MCDST will not necessary give you a MCPIT title. (May Be I am wrong) :dry

i think you are wrong cause it is only one exam to get TS in anycase so the upgrade must to become MCITP with different upgrade exams for the two paths...
