    Hi,

Found an interesting site on what Microsoft is doing with virtualisation, white papers, demo's, video's etc

Here are some other useful links.

It's admittedly for the 70-693 but covers a whole range of different products.

    Nice links.

Took a quick look, doesn't seem like any of them talk about SP1 for Windows Server 2008 R2, which brings with it a feature called "Dynamic Memory" that works similar to VMware's Memory Overcommit whereupon you can "give" more memory to VM's than is installed in your system.

    Some info here: http://blogs.technet.com/windowsser...ver-2008-r2-and-windows-7-service-pack-1.aspx

Well, they said it'd come one day, and here it is, even though some fellows mentioned that it was not always a good idea... methinks the public spoke out loud enough.

Now if only that SP1 was here as even with 16 or 24 gigs on my lab machines, it's always nice to be able to squeeze just one more VM in there... I guess I'll see how it works in practice tho'. Would not be nice to see major crashes when all VM's request max ram at the same time :p

I was watching a video of Brad Anderson at MMS and he was mentioning that SP1 was due August time I think.

As far as exams go, they will usually cover core topics rather than SP1 features (certainly the SCCM exam only covered the RTM release rather than R2 or SP2), I also believe the the VMM (70-403) only covers the RTM of VMM rather than R2.

Dynamic Memory looks to be interesting but it's funny how MS said it would never be needed :p

I know what you mean about ram, I am struggling with 64gig :p
