Microsoft patch causes IE headache
SOFTWARE GIANT Microsofts August 8 security patch has a nasty habit of causing Internet Explorer to crash.
You can understand why people installed the MS06-042 update, after all it was rated as "critical" by Volish security experts.
But, according to the Voles customer support site, the problem affects Internet Exploder 6 with Service Pack 1 on Windows XP and Windows 2000 systems. If a user looks at a version 1.1 of HTTP alongside compression, the browser will crash.
PeopleSoft applications that have Web-based interfaces have also had a few problems. Voles CRM tools dont like the patch much either.
Microsoft plans to have a go at releasing another patch on August 22 for all affected users.
