    Hi all,

Is it possible to use a memorystick instead of the diskette to store the winnt.sif file when installing XP from CD? Nowadays more and more systems are without a diskette station.

    TIA!

Yes, but to automate the installation, you normally would place the WINNT.SIF file on a diskette. The installation program starts looking for this special file. Will this work with a memorystick to?

I suppose you can put that file on the memory stick but if your bios wont run the memory stick automatically or you cant do it from dos then it wont work.

You could try but I would suggest you have a backup plan
