    Hi.

I'm in the middle of plowing through my MCSA (originally it was going to be the DST route, but I changed), and I am wondering something: as I have passed the electives (MCDST) and the client operating system exam now, passing the server exams would make me an MCSA. Is it then possible to do the security exams, and be both an MCSA and and MCSA:S? or does it count as one qualification?

The information about which security exams you need to pass isn't on the Microsoft Learning site now (just how to upgrade from MCSA 2000), ... I was thinking about going down the Security+ route, as I like CompTIA, but is there another one you have to do as well?

Not sure if you can be MCSA but there is nothing to stop you doing the exam.

You need have the right combo of exams. Also you would be best doing the MCSA and then adding the exams you need for security and messaging.

    70-299 & security+ would upgrade your MCSA to MCSA:Security

Plus the 70-299 & security+ both count towards your MCSE - YEAY!

If you havn't done it get log into the MCP members site and spend a few hours looking at your options via the certification planner, you'l be suprised at how many certs some of your exams count towards.

That Cert planner never worked for me except when i completed my certification.

Who wants to see the planner when u already know u got your cert covered up completely.

It shows me a bunch of options, but when i enter inside to see the filled or unfulfilled requirements, the + sign wont expand at all. Yuck!

I think it only works in IE.

I have found that the entire MCP site only reliably works in IE, and I am a complete Mozilla fanboi!
