    Hello,

Having no further certification (despite ten years of Windows experience), I got informations on Server 2003 MCSA certification. I intend to pass these 4 exams :
    070-290 / 070-291: Windows Server 2003
    070-270: Windows XP Pro
070-431: Implementing and Maintaining SQL Server 2005.

Now, I'm thinking it might be better to replace 70-270 through 70-620 (Vista) or even try to pass the 3 exams for the MCITP: Server Administrator.

My question is : Do you think it's a good idea to start a Server 2003 certification, from scratch, today (even if it's very used) ?

    Thank you for your advice.

To be honest, imo, I would say that it would be very useful to do the MCSA 2k3 first of all, then do the upgrades for the MCITP: SA. Windows 2003 is still support for another 5 years and companies will still be using it after that.

I'd agree with Ken, my place is using 2003 and has no plans to upgrade anytime soon.

You'll be seeing 2003 for years to come so doing MCSA then upgrading is the way forward.

Your in the same situation as myself. I have several years worth of experience working with Server 2003 but I haven't sat an exam in so many years. I've recently started to look at certification again and I'm definitely going to start with the 2003 MCSA/MCSE.

Another vote for starting with the oldest and working your way forward.
