Just been reading the following page https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcitp.aspx#tab2 and under MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 it says:

Does this mean that it is still available to obtain, but under the different name MCSA: Windows Server 2008 after July 31, 2013? :blink

Yeah, from my understanding and correct me if I am wrong, but when you pass exams such as 70-640, 70-642, etc after the MCITP certification was retired, you'd be earning the MCSA 2008. In fact, if you earn the MCITP:EA or MCITP:SA you will automatically earn the MCSA 2008 because they both consist of the exact same exams.

Take a look at this link.

    Certifications: A+ | CCA | CCAA | Network+ | MCDST | MCSA | MCP (270, 271, 272, 290, 291) | MCTS (70-662, 70-663) | MCITP:EMA | VCA-DCV/Cloud/WM | VTSP | VCP5-DT | VCP5-DCV
    WIP: VCAP5-DCA/DCD | EMCCA

Yeah that's how I read it as well. They're basically changing the same to MCSA 2008 as far as I can see!

Yes, they are 'retiring' the MCITP generally and 'reactivating the MSCA/E (but as we all know these have now changed from the 'old' versions).

Some exams are therefore just being removed - others, like these, will continue but without the MCITP name, it seems.

    Certifications: B.Sc.(Hons), MBCS. MCP (271,272), MCDST, MCTS (680), MCITP:EDST7, MCSA:WIN7, MCPS, MCNPS
WIP: 70-686, then onto MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure via MCSA: Server 2012...
