hi guys an girls i am new here.. i have just started a mcdst course hoping to get a better job!!. can anyone tell me if this is possible i am 40 yrs old a little pc experience and i am fed up with doin little pointless jobs all the time or having to rely on agencies.... HELP thanks in advance

hi there and welcome to CF! do u have previous experience in IT? mcdst is a nice one to go for at the start, as it mainly deals with troubleshooting the applications and XP operating system and also good for gaining employment as a help desk analyst or level 2 desktop support

 

hi, i have no previous experience in it only messing around with my xp home system this i think may be a problem what do u think??

 

hmmm, if u dont have previous experience with computers, u should then also look at doing compTIA A+ certification, which actually helps you learn a lot about computer hardware as well as various operating systems of microsoft such as 95,98,2000, NT,XP Home and professional (oops forgot windows ME)...after this go on to studying for your MCDST. A+ gave me a lot of confidence to go on to microsoft certs...

 

well thats a relief friend of mine a comptia a+ study pack so i should look at studying this as well then. cheers thanks for info

 

no worries, if u have any queries just post them on CF and someone usually answers it quite fast u might also want to have a look at the A+ section of the CF to get more info on it
