Hi all I have been quoted £995 to do an MCDST and Comptia A+Exam 70-271: Supporting Users and Troubleshooting a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System
Exam 70-271: Supporting Users and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications
on a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System

Is this is a good offer or can I do it for less?

I need guidance and support and have considered just reading the book and applying for the exam but not sure what to do and £995 is a lot of money!

Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated

    Thanks
    Sas.

It sounds extortionate to me. Buy Mike Mike Myers A+ all in one 6th edition and pass the A+ by self study. that's easily doable and most people on this site do it that way. Then but a couple of books for the 70-271 and self study that. Before you know it you will be A+ certified and an MCP and have saved a fortune

Before spending that much, I'd echo the sentiments above and recommend that you try the self study route first.

I would definately reccomend buying the books yourself rather than paying somebody else £995 to basically give you the same material.
The mike meyers book is really good and well written, and if you get stuck on anything the people on this site are always happy to help you.
