This one specifically for the londoners I guess.

How about getting together to spread ideas and ways of studying and passing exams? I mean for example, we could just meet up for a night every month, go out for a meal and drinks and then take it from there.

If popular, could make it into a users group, where we hire out a hall for the day. Each bring a laptop/PC someone like myself could bring my lab over and well, with my own lab I have over 30 virtual servers each with 256MB ram :p

Use that to create specific labs, teach each other about scenario's. How to go about fixing what we failed on in the last exam, etc...

How does that sound? Any thoughts?

    Not really Si
User Groups, by there very nature dont move around a lot, and most of the good vendor ones are in the big cities, London, Manchester, Glasgow etc

It's a good idea, might not strike up the interest that quick though

I agree with Pheo here... if there were peeps in Brum, up for a meet up say once a week or forthnight, i would be game for it, even if it wasn't IT related!

Well for anyone Interested, you can always catch me on MSN. I'll be happy to organise something. As they say with small acorns. If you dont try, then nothing will happen. Maybe some months later, there might be a good crew formed. :p

Guys, thanks for the responses so far. Im sorry if those outside london feel excluded. However, the aim of the group is to be organised as a regular event, so maybe in the future you could attend. :p

Anyhow, I have recieved quite a fair few of responses from other forums. Still in the same spirit of the original post. Its all about sharing ideas, information, skills networking and socialising.

So if you have read this thread and havent yet commented. Why not do so, you dont really have much to lose :biggrin

I'll be creating a website around this and have a few ideas on how to move things forward, but it will be nothing without people mobilising themselves and showing up. 8)

    Thanks for the response.

I will actually be posting another thread to make it less ambigious. As I have seen many other "Londoners" post in the forums, but not reply to this thread. I dunno maybe they arent sure what its all about.

Nevertheless, only after a few days. I have quite a few potential attendees, although I have tried to run other events before. Turn out isnt ever really as expect.

Im working out a venue for where to hold this. Most likely it will be in a bar, after work on a weekday. As people would want weekends for themselves. As time goes on, I will try to find a more permanent venue as this is something that I do want to work out.

Anyhow, the UG will be for the UG and in the best interests of everyone that joins it. There will be alot of benefits :p

In what way would this be different than the normal CF get together? Seems like this is duplication of work that's already been done...

the get together looks more like of a social meet with food and drink that happens every couple of months in different locations where this seems to be more of a regular study get together based in london. am i right no1youknowz ?

yes, this get together is more of study group, but with alot of bonuses. Some of which I cant say yet, as things are still up in the air.

seriously though. If you are in London, it would be well worth replying here or sending me a pm. :biggrin
