Yeah but its not as virulent or deadly as Microsoft lust !

 

Are there actually ANY people out there with M$ lust? I don't hate M$ - but I certainly don't love 'em either - and I'm the least Linux-friendly of all my nerdpals

 

Jesus, have you not noticed the MS fanboys on this very site ? People whoop and holla every time a minor UI tweak comes out all nicely shrinkwrapped as Vista this or Win 7 that.

The religious wars alive and well, just now its not vi vs emacs, there are people on these very forums that take their OS religion almost as seriously as their real religion !

The real story here is MS at last is becoming more open, look at Mono, look at IronRuby, Apache, Eclipse etc.

They once had a fervent anti open-source view, this dates right back to when Bill Gates first started creating software and all the homebrew clubs were giving away their source. MS started a massive FUD campaign against linux, its not fair to put it all on the 'microsoft haters'.

Linus has always been a pragmatic approachable chap, otherwise he'd have never have been able to marshal 1000's of developers to help him create linux.

 

I haven't... and I'm on here quite a bit.

I like Microsoft... but I certainly don't love 'em.

EDIT: I'm not certain, but I believe Zeb's name isn't Jesus... ;)

 

Now I've seen some old pants on here in my time - even posted some, but this takes the biscuit. The only fanboy I've ever seen on here was Freddie - and he wasn't exactly in the M$ camp, now was he?

 

I don't think freddy was a fanboy, afterall he had an MCSE, I think he was just misunderstood.

I have no love for Microsoft, and no hate either.

On the same side of the fence, there are things I like and dislike about Linux too.

 

I personally don't like Microosft products least ive got the balls to admit it I much prefer the challenge of Linux ans reaping the rewards when you setup something that cost you nothing.

 

I am proud PC. Can't wait for windows 7. Vista sucks. But I love my XP Pro and dare I say IE!

I am no Microsoft lover or any os lover but if I worked for Microsoft in top position then I think I would say something like this.

Microsoft will never die, neither will Windows so all you lot can suck my balls because were here to stay and your not getting rid of us

 

Can't really blame MS for getting out there early and introducing useful technology to people. It's not their fault that people have become so dependant on it...
Most peoples argument is that "MS monopolize the computer OS industry".
Get a grip.
Anybody smart in any business would take advantage of dependancy at some point down the line. It's stupid to think they wouldnt? A business is to cater for a need.

PS, I'm not a fanboy of anything - I would like to be a linux fanboy... not smart enough though
