Hi all. Just passed 70-270 today.
Why, you ask, when you're doing an MCSD?
    That's a good question.
    And it deserves an answer.
    But there isn't one...

Just fancied having a go. I use XP a lot on the office network. Boned up all week with thranscender and went for it. Fortunately my employer always encourages people to get certs, and I'm not sure they know what exams are necessary for an MCSD.

    Relieved.

    Sorry mates.
When you first sign up for these things you tend to be cautious. The first two months I did one at a time, but now I've gone for a full 6. I love you all!

    WooHoo! Well done, Johnny :alc

And why do the 70-270? WHY NOT? It proves to your employers you're competent using XP Pro doesn't it? It might not be critical for your career track but it's still a wise move!

Hmm. Not as hard as I feared, and I'm not an XP XPert.
    (Chuckle)
Lots of questions about laptops, mainly using hardware profiles to conserve power. Lots of users trying to log on to business machines and networks from home, i.e. firewalls and offline caching.
File permissions and encryption, use of recovery agent. PCs breaking down and use of system restore and ASR etc.
Funnily enough, very little on installation of the OS, or services which is odd. I got the impression the it was the 210 exam with the client cleverly renamed XP.

Like I said, I used transcender to practice, and I got one of their rather excellent study guides for some light reading.

Good luck all, and thanks for the response!
