    Hi all,

you prob all know, well most, that i have been struggling to get an IT job for years. I did land one in a school last year, but didnt work out unfortunately. Well, i apply everyday, recruitment agencies/jobcentre etc. I never give up hope, even at my grand age and no proper IT commercial experience. You may also know that i had an industrial accident back in 2001, and since then got my A+, became a volunteer for a computer charity, and just tried to get back to normal. Well, i did go for an interview 2 weeks ago for an IT tech post at an electrical wholesalers, it went well and got second interview, then an email saying it was a coin toss between me and another, but he had more MS quals(more! i aint got any!!) They rang this morning and asked if i would like to work for them:D the other guy went sick the second day and came in this morning saying he'd got a job in London. They were worried i'd be insulted at being second best.. No, not at my age, been through too much to be affronted that easily. Maybe the job was rubbish and he didnt like it?? They seem nice and the IT guy is really friendly, anyway, shes given me till tomorrow to think it over..
You cant keep an optimistic Kat down!!:biggrin

    Thanks you lot.

Raff-to be honest, i find (and found this job) the Jobcentre Website to be really good. Its improved so much these past few years, i should know!! Better than recruitment agencies. I guess thats because the jobs are real and not just flyers. Not to generalise on R A, as there are good ones, but when you lack real world experience on you're CV it dosent seem to stand out to Recruitment Consultants, who to be fair just need to fill a job with specs they've been given.
