Great question. Honestly no idea. I know my CV is out of date because I sent it to a friend today and noticed my latest job wasn’t on it. To help them with a job application.

Honestly if I wanted to move, I would go onto the companies job website and have a think if I knew someone who worked there who I could ask and get a referral from. I’m at the stage now where there’s only three companies I’d go to next, to my mind. I could be surprised with a great offer from somewhere not on that list but if I had my choice, Id choose where I go next and almost interview them to see if they are what I’d want. If that makes sense

 

Know exactly what you mean – thinking my next move would be just as much me interviewing them to see if its want I wanted. Grafted enough years to not take the first job if it isn’t right.

Vendor work does sound good – I had limited exposure to VMware when I was working at a MSP so I would have to learn quickly!

 

I’d be happy to jump on a zoom with you mate. We can teach you all you need to know about our stuff, it’s the stuff you can’t teach we look for. The unlimited training still blows my mind years later

Mate I do not envy you, its hard work isn't it. Have you seen recently Citrix and Microsoft are laying thousands off? Definitely hard times in the market

 

Job market is bit weird just now – tried to recruit some helpdesk engineers and couldn’t get anyone decent for ages – first couple of successful candidates got counter offers as well.

 

Just read Google (Alphabet) are the latest. 12,000 jobs going

 

Yeah – big redundancies from some of the big players it seems.

 

Have heard similar from other people – LinkedIn definitely an option for jobs these days.
