This has maybe been asked before but Im new so forgive me.

Anyone done a course with them?Apparently they offer an A+,N+,Server+,Security+ and 22 bonus courses for 600 quid.

Ive also considered the eLearning Centre (not e-Learning different websites) which I got from LearnDirect Scotland. They offer a lot for little money, which makes me dubious.

    Mac,

I have looked at their sites, but you can't really judge someone's product/service based on a website. The second link's courses are very cheap. Have you registered with them for more information?

I think D faktor had one of the funniest responses to this type of question. the response was based on if it seems to good to be true then it more than likely will be. Ill try and dig it out for you

I tend to think that way too zxspectrum.

I once fell for the Yes car credit ad and 5 years on still paying!

When I started looking around for a course they all looked good initially but then the salesman started calling which puts me off.
A college course would be good but theres nothing local to me.

mate have you considered Self Study?
TBH i did a college course with a college (obviously) and i honestly believed it was a waste of time, the main reason for this is due to the fact of the amount of home study you had to do anyway. I thought yep, some inhouse training, some students to help with my troubles, but nah mate, i did all of sims at home myself, and students to help with my troubles? ...well there are all here on CF

Just to update I have learned that I cannot get funding to self-study and have to go with a provider registered with CDL and it aint cheap!

Hmm, I find that a little strange why they wont give you funding for the self study route, thought they were supposed to be encouraging people.

I suppose its to ensure you spend the money on a course and not defraud them like people do with the Social Fund loans.

Self study will only cost a fraction of what you would pay to a training provider. All you need is commitment, time to study, two or three decent books, a computer with a heap of RAM, VM ware or Virtual PC, the Internet, this forum and last but not least some talent in whatever area of IT interests you.

After much deliberation I am taking the self study route mainly because I dont want to wind up in debt and not find a job afterwards.
If anything I can at least have knowledge to help out friends and friends of friends.
