    Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my Laptop which has Windows 8.1 installed to Windows 10 but i seem to be having a few issues. My laptop has been updated with the latest patches which was done yesterday but i don't seem to have the Windows upgrade option which you see in the bottom right hand corner.

My Windows is also a genuine copy.

    Any ideas?

Download the iso file and extract it and then run setup.exe to do the upgrade.

Glad it worked for you :)

For those of you wanting to do it via the command line you can force the upgrade by doing the following.

From an administrative command line type - wuauclt.exe /updatenow

Then open up Windows Update and it should show you downloading Windows 10 pre-reqs and then it will do the upgrade for you.

I've found out why I cannot upgrade to Windows 10. It's because I am running Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

one thing to check after upgrade that i only noticed last night if you have an SSD drive is disk defrag seems to get turned back on again for it after i had disabled it for this drive

Thanks for sharing this, it was also turned on for my SSD. I've now tweaked the setting!
