Hi guys , quick question on ISEB Foundation Tesing

    1) Can I take the test anywhere in UK
    2) Is it necessary to book the test with a training provider ; who provided the course;
(I want to avoid Training Providers because I am funding myself)

    3) I read somewhere that it is mandatory to shell off 1200 GBP , get trained in the institute ,
AND then only they would let you to take the tests .
(some one please tell me that's wrong)

    3) Are the booking slots available immediately

    Thanks
    Robin

Hi, why not introduce yourself here and be a part of this community :)

Yes, within reason... You can book the exam at the local ISEB testing centre or at any Prometric or Vue testing centre, see here.

No, the foundation exam you can self study. I do not know about the higher levels though.

    ???

Who told you that/where did you read that?:

It is recommended, but not a requirement. See here.

Check out your local and/or closest Prometric and/or Pearson Vue testing centre for that info.

    Hope this helps

Also, you'll find that the Law foundation is withdrawn at the moment (pending a rewrite I think).

You can contact ISEB direct with any queries too - see here

Law is one I keep mulling over, possibly because of my working environment.

I've got the books for the Foundation in Project Management too, but I find it such a dry read, that I'm waiting for my next project to stick its head over the parapet before I delve too deep so I can apply it to a real world scenario.

Thought this was for the ISEB foundation in Software testing?

Yeah, also looking into IT Law, not the full degree, but a good foundation.
