    Hey Hey,

With the last of the IPv4 blocks being allocated on Tuesday it's only a matter of time (aye it could be a year or sooner) where some of us might have to deal with IPv6 in one guise or another.

I've got the few basics that they covered in the Network+ course/exam but we're still talking basic knowledge.

Anyone care to share any books or online material links that they reckon are good guides to the topic?

not sure on books but from what I have read its gonna be about September for Europe and earlier for everyone else before IPv4 runs out but then again there's lots of speculation out there.

Aye - thats why I want a small bit of a head start now it's looming - I'll go do some more digging around the darker recesses of the online libraries.

I fully expect ISP-based NAT to arrive sooner rather than later... eliminating the dire need for immediate transition to IPv6.

The last IPv6 book I purchased was a Syngress book covering IPv6 as it relates to Cisco devices. However, that was back in 2001, ten full years ago. Still, I pick it up from time to time.

I agree otherwise the ISPs that dont go this route will be screwed.
