    Hi All

I'm in my mid-thirties living in England, I have just been made redundant from a rather boring office job and am interested in changing direction and working in Computing as it's a subject that really interests me. I passed my final Comptia A+ exam last Thursday and got a really good score and was wondering what to do next.

I was thinking about taking a Network + exam as it seems like a logical progression but I'm not sure that getting paper qualifications without relevant work experience will mean much to prospective employers.

Is the best hope trying to apply for tech support desk posts while studying for a Network + or other qualification? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

The A+ and Network+ certifications are solid entry-level certifications, as is the MCDST. All of them are quite appropriate for you to be taking at this point.

That said, don't wait until you get all those certifications before looking for your first IT job - start looking now! :)

    Welcome to the forums!
