Hello, new member here. I've just purchased a voucher to sit my 220-601, my first cert despite having worked as a desktop support tech for the last 3 1/2 years (and before that, helpdesk and some user admin for 5!)... figured it was time i got certified to back up my work experience.
not sure what to pursue once i have the A+ under my belt though; probably N+, or would i be better off going for my MCSE? i don't plan on sticking with desktop support for too much longer, rather get into networking/server admin.
    anyway yeah, hello!

The MCSE is for people who have a year of server admin experience, so I'd hold off on that just yet. Remember, certifications aren't designed to show employers what you WANT to be doing... they're designed to show employers what you already have experience doing.

I'd recommend that you get into a desktop support gig where you can assist with server administration so you can get that all-important experience.

If you don't already have the Network+ and MCDST, those would be good for you to knock out, and it shouldn't take you too long to do, what with your current experience.

    Welcome to the forums!
