I came up with this idea for a thread just a second ago, during my very own 'interview dilema'
I have an interview tomorrow at 9:30am in Moorgate, and realised its been over 2 years since i got a new suit (last place was casual dress), and it doesnt fit anymore, neither to any of my shirts, oh dear

not the sort of thing you want to turn upto in jeans and a t-shirt :)
I think i can squeeze into one of my old shirts though, but no blazer

Fingers crossed it doesnt blow my chances :)

this is what sitting on your arse in the US for 3 months does :P

    on a plus note
the nice chap at the recruitment agency offered to lend me his spare shirt if i was of similar size, cor his commission must be top of the line for this one :P, kudos to that man.

    ...STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS...

It was reported today that Bull Gates broke from all tradition, and elected to post using real English language, rather than the hybrid SMS abbreviational dialect that, after several days/weeks, the collective CertForums Membership had just begun to comprehend during his lively posting on afore-mentioned (and Award Winning) site ...

One shocked by-stander had to be rushed to an awaitng Recovery Console.........

Kidding ya, Bull - we knew you could do it really [IMG]

The job is for Senior Network Engineer at a city based spread betting company (financial not sports), it will invovle alot of Microsoft and Cisco stuff, along with heavy VPN and Firewall stuff (Cisco PIX, Nokia NG with Checkpoint, etc)

they seem like a cutting edge palce, Ex2003, Windows2003, XP, Cisco 4500 series switches, etc etc

    fingers crossed

    Hey Phoenix,

How did the interview go? Is the company trading Futures and Options or does it involve other financial areas? I have been working for a Futures company at Canary Wharf for 3 years now and have been having heaps of fun with cutting edge technology.
    Best of luck.

    Mike

just an update, dont wanna count my chickens or anything
    BUT

the guy who interviewed me has decided i'm the man for the job, so technically the jobs mine
I have to go meet the CTO as a formality, but he does have the power to overturn the other guys decision, so i still have to be my charming self for a bit longer :)

thanks for your well wishes chaps
