Colleague of mine is well up to speed on his Crypto's and asked if I would be interested in Initiative Q.

A global currency ran by a private company on a centralised database... No guarantee of security, privacy, immutability.

Sorry but this will never work.

Also, it's not created by the same people who made paypal. The creator had a company that was acquired by paypal. They seem to be quite happy to allow this misinformation to be propagated though.

 

Not to mention, the last thing we need is another inflationary currency. Imagine this scenario:

'Hey guys, the CEO wants a new car. Print an extra 20,000 initiative Q!'

Or imagine being a database admin for initiative Q.. That would be a bit of a moral quandary.

Sorry, I just feel really strongly about this being a completely unworkable idea, and just goes to show how many people misunderstand what cryptocurrencies have to offer. This is NOT in any way a crypto currency. It's actually worse than a fiat currency in many ways.
