Came across a website today that might be of interest to some people.

Tineye

Its an image searching site, you upload an image and it will find all references of the image on the web.

Its apparently clever enough to pick out the same image in higher/lower quality, or slightly cropped images, etc.

It doesnt search for similar images, just the exact image you supply, and its still in Beta, so the index size is still limited.

I can see this being handy if you need a high-res version of an image you have. or if you cant remember where you got that icon, etc from.

ok. perhaps not for icons. theres a minimum image size.

 

Interesting copyright issues, find all the poeple who have ripped off your images for their own websites...
