if you wanted you could just post the question. And post another reply with the answer in later

No - the problem is that people answering the question would have their posts visible. This is what [Hide] was for.

Used to be we just posted visibly and as mentioned above, most folks would skip to the end without looking too much, then after a few days the poster would put up the answer. Not ideal, but we survived just fine. I believe the hide hack will be back with the next board upgrade (I think) :)

Like I said, it worked OK for a while - go for it. Those who are serious about using your questions to learn and study will make the effort to avoid all but their own posts, IMHO.

SimonV will be doing the work, zimbo - and trying to put a timescale on him is like trying to hold quicksilver (j/k, Si) :tongue

They're not doing themselves any favours but looking at all the answers first. I suppose it comes down to peoples personal choices, they can either try to answer the question fairly without looking
or they look at everybodys answers first and then answer.

Either way it's their choice how they handle it and you don't need to worry about it. I think it's great that you want to do it. :thumbleft

I actually prefer to see other people answers. I have found in the past, that some of the best discussions have come from people jumping into the fray, just because they think they can help out another poster or post a link. In other words, I believe it encourages more people to have a punt.

Either way, don't let technology hold you back, go for it CM! 8)
