The i386 folders are normally used for repairing / installing different parts of Windows... people normally drag the folder after install and the c:\

    Question:

When Windows ask for the Windows disk, and you have to bung the CD in, how do you make that prompt automatically direct itself to the C:\i386 folder?

    Goto this registery key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\setup

and change the SourcePath value to the C:\i386\
