i have just landed my first IT job even before passing my first exam.i am now a pc engineer for the warranty division of compaq.i explained at the interview that i was currently studying for various courses and i have been building pc's for years and he seemed to like the fact that i have a genuine interest in computers rather than just trying to get a job in the industry.i also have the opportunity to progress to the network side of things once i am qualified.thanks to all at certforums for any help or advice you have given me.

guess i will have to force a few pints down tonight

Right on, 808! Congratulations! Well done, m8. Yes, sometimes experience will blow away certifications (or lack of same). I knew a fellow who got his first helpdesk job while he was still in school. The interviews liked the fact that he bought a bunch of broken IBM Thinkpads on eBay and rebuilt them into working models.

still going well although i really needed today off becouse of a huge hangover.

 

Uh...I don't think hangovers are a viable reason to call in sick. You might want to save the heavy drinking when you know you have the next day off.
