I have gone Perm

    Strange as it seems but after 12 years of contracting I have decided to take on a permy role. My first day as a permy starts on the 9th of May.

    I have been contracting with this company for the last 2.5 months and during this time was approached about taking on the role full time, apparently they have been looking for someone for the last 6+ months to fill the full time role.

    The kind of work involved isn't exactly where I wanted to go (Security rather than Virtualisation (VMware)) but there is going to be a wide variety of work here.

    It's going to be an interesting time.

    That's what I thought. Until I did it for three years. Now I wouldn't go back to it full time kicking and screaming.

    Congrats Simon and best wishes on the permanent role:), unfortunately most firms when it comes to systems wants you to be a bit of both worlds i.e. security, servers and virtualisation.

    Talking about security just finished a five days course on HP SAN Accelerated talks about Fiber channel, iSCSI and FCOE etc. I never had so much strong coffee in my life to keep me awake.

    The security part, now that was like really boring:)

    Keep us posted on your progress.
