I was called this afternoon by the recruitment agency dealing with my case to be told I got the job at the charity organization. The company trains(sort of an accredition body) and regulates proffessional accountants that serve in mostly public sector organizations.

I'm especially very happy as I can also spend up to £2500 each year in the budget for training of my choice, as long as it is related to the job. Mmn... 'Certification junky' springs to mind 8)

Now I just have to wait to get the confirmation through the post before giving in my month notice(which only means I leave 1week before my contract ends. Luckily, the contract is very flexible).

    Excellent news!

Always nice to hear that a company does more than pay lip service to training its staff.

TBH, I've worked in the charity sector before (I even did some voluntary work for one for a few months whilst I was studying for my SQL exams) and they do treat their staff well. Its one of the obvious benefits to working in that sector, along with the fact that its not usually a stressful environment.

The obvious downside is, of course, the piss-poor salaries :(
