Hi all, I've been a lurker for a couple of days now (google is my friend). I'm not soo sure of what to tell you al about myself, so I'll just fire off the most relevant stuff.
I'm a wagon driver, I have been for 3 years, I have approached computeach to do a range of courses leading me upto IT securty.
I've heard conflicting advice about computeach, some really bad, some really good, I suppose it depends on wether or not you need the extra tuition. I do or rather most likely will, so I am leaning towards them.
I did work as a technician at PCWorld - for my sins, did a 7 year stretch, so its not like i'm a novice without a clue, my eyes are open, but my vision is limited.
I have no idea what to expect beyond CompTIA A+, although the course I want to do includes...
MCSE
MCSA
MCP
CompTIA Securty+
And Part MCDBA

my question is, are these relevant?
I dont want to work as a PC technician my whole life, and my aim is to move to Canada. Will this help?

Welcome to CF! Umm i think you going to quick there.. slow down and lets start out with something simple - since you been a tech for a few years. Comptia's A+ and Network+, have a look in our forums for those two and i think thats where you should look first before looking at those more advanced certs.

MCP is any Microsoft Cert. MCSA is half an MCSE. MCDBA consists of several exams too. If you want to gain all these certs you are going to need a lot of time studying and in the field.
