Arrrrgh! One of those days today - we support domino administrator, and Notes too....we also do Microsoft and much more...

Well everyone decided to call, everything went wrong and there was no-one to pass the issues on to...

A Domino server keeps randomly crashing every few days at different times, and I am trying to look at the log to see if there is anything similar to last time, but it's a totally different message, so I check when it crashed and what was going on then - ah, Symantec update, let's take a closer look.....never get to finish it as my colleague puts a call through to me and I have to drop everything to help someone who is unable to hear noise through her speakers (but doesn't want to hang around on the phone, so I have to dial into her pc and have ultra supersonic hearing in order to know when I've resolved the problem)- still fixed it though!:D ...then another call comes through so I dial into that PC, which is a Notes client with a replication issue, but before I get to finish that, another call comes through - today I was trying to juggle about 6 totally different things at any one time and speak to other clients, talking them through resolving connection issues and re-starting Notes services........anyway, it gets busier and busier and there's no time to take a pee - let alone a proper break.....

....busy busy day, but would I change any of it? NO!!!

I love my job - I love the steep learning curve - I love my clients. I love the challenge that's thrown at me, and battling against it all - I wouldn't change a damn thing!!! :biggrin

Sounds like you had a fun day!

That’s the kinda job that can keep you motivated for a long time, when the calls keep coming in and you have to fix them as soon as possible it can be very challenging. Some people quit and some people enjoy it, it sounds like you enjoy it, hee hee! :biggrin

How was *my* day? Fine. Pretty low key actually. I found out that the soonest I'll have a shot at a permanent job at Micron is March but my current contract expires in February. I flagged my team lead so I hope he'll bridge the gap (again).

What a lovely, positive thread !! :thumbleft

Today (well, yesterday now), I was less irritated by customers than usual, and Friday as always is a day when moods are a little lighter, so I basically spent the day annoying most of my colleagues and bosses with mischief, fun and pranks, and generally abusing my position. All good :biggrin
