If you have an application database running on a Windows 2003 server how do you use the backup utility to backup this database even if some users have the database open??

I use a third party application [Veritas/Symantec] for our own backups so I dont use the standard Windows 2003 backup utility that much...

    Shadow Copy.

Windows 2003's built in backup software uses shadow copied to back up open files.
